As CEO, Gregory Balestrero provides leadership and expertise in strategic management for the organization and carries out three primary goals for PMI® : to better serve the needs of its members, promote new business through strategic partnerships and alliances, and enhance public awareness.
Gregory Balestrero will provide delegates with an overview of the state of the project management profession and the unique role that PMI® is playing as the profession’s chief advocate.

Balestrero is the immediate past chair of the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives (GWSAE), and is a current member of the board of the Center for Association Leadership. He is also an active member and former president of the Council of Engineering and Scientific Society Executives (CESSE). Balestrero also is a member of the Committee of 100, of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He is a current member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE); the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE); and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Balestrero currently serves on the finance committee of ASAE, and the finance committee of Engineers Week Coalition. He was honored with a fellowship in the World Academy of Productivity Scientists and is an honorary member of Alpha Pi Mu, an industrial engineering honor society. He is the recipient of the 2004 Friendship Prize medal, the highest award granted by the P.R.C. for foreign experts. The medal recognizes contributions to the development of the P.R.C.
