It has time and again been noted that there exists a great gap between the Academia and the Industry in India. It is very interesting that with the Indian Industrial Sector booming in the global market, the gap instead of shrinking seems to be increasing more than ever before. To address this issue, PMI North India Chapter organized “The Student Leadership Day” at the Institute of Management Studies, Noida. |

With phenomenal response from both the faculty as well as the students who participated, the program was a huge success. Together with the speakers, the participants in the event explored different ways by which each student can unleash the leader within oneself to achieve their career goals as well as personal objectives. Both interactive and inspirational, the program focused on providing the students an insight into managing their time and work better so that they lead themselves into identifying and seizing career opportunities that best suits them.
Mr. Upendra Giri, Trustee | President, PMI North India Chapter, was instrumental in pointing out that leaders are not born, each one of us can cultivate leadership skills and establish oneself as a leader. With examples and real life scenarios, which the students could relate to, he was able to help the students understand different leadership styles and responsibilities of a leader. The program was an eye opening experience to the students on the discipline of project management and the missions of Project Management Institute, USA. It focused to explore project management as a career as well as the practical usage of project management in the routine life of the students. |
