Amit is a PMP and ITIL certified IT professional having over 12 years of experience in IT industry out of which 10 plus years of experience with IBM. The last 6 years focused on Project Management. He has a rich accomplishment in Project Management, Infrastructure Management, Transition Management, Engagement Management and Program/People Management. He carries blend of experience in Information Technology and Telecom Industry.

Amit is currently working as a Transformation Manager with Ericsson India Global Services Pvt. Ltd. Prior to this, he was working with IBM India Pvt Ltd taking care of Project Management, Program Management, and Engagement Management in Information Technology & Delivery – Global Delivery (ITD-GD) business unit for North American region. Key achievements during this tenure includes generating an additional monthly revenue of USD 35,000 plus by discovering and fine tuning gaps in the Storage Services costing process and been a key member of the New Business Solution team that won a Customer Contract renewal deal.

Amit is a PMI member since year 2006. Amit has led complex projects successfully for almost six years in various industries particularly in Engineering, Transport, Banking and Financial, FMCG and Telecom sectors. He has handled independent assignments on multiple Strategic Outsourcing contracts in IBM Global Services India which are very complex in terms of diversity of IT systems; services environment; and locations’ spread. He is recipient of numerous achievement awards both in IBM and in CSC.

Amit holds a Master’s degree in Computer Applications and a Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology and Management.

Besides being a Project Management Professional, he has a passion towards Community Service work. During duration 2008 – 2009, he has been associated with CRY (Child Rights and You) and worked as a Volunteer Moderator for a campaign called "Manorath" which focuses on Right to Education (RTE) on the MCD schools in Delhi/NCR region.


Roles & Responsibilities

The VP Programs shall be accountable for the needs assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of programs relating to project management, that contribute to the achievement of the chapter's long-term strategy and sustainability.

  1. Recommend an annual calendar of events for board approval prior to the annual meeting. The calendar of events shall run from January 1 through December 31 of the current year. Schedule Chapter meetings so that they do not conflict with the annual PMI Seminar/Symposium or ACP meetings.
  2. Arrange for accommodations of speakers including dinners, gifts, special equipment, etc.
  3. Develop a backup agenda in the event of speaker/schedule conflicts.
  4. Prepare the program meeting notice, including a brief bio-sketch of the speaker and the topic in time for it to be included in the newsletter which must be mailed no later than 14 days prior to each meeting.
  5. Plan the Chapter's special events such as social events, field trips, and seminars.
  6. Ensure that all Professional Development activities support the needs and desires of the business and educational communities of the area the Chapter serves.
  7. Establish lines of communication with those communities for program guidance.
  8. Participate, along with the President, Vice President - Programs, and the chapter Professional Programs Steering Committee. This committee will coordinate all program, education, and Professional Development activity within the chapter.
  9. Coordinate the registration process at Professional Development events working with the Vice President - Finance.
  10. Develop and coordinate educational activities.
  11. Plan and coordinate certification workshops.
